This a closed, invite only Meet n' Greet where we introduce our trainers to our course trainers. The goal is to prepare our instructors to present new course information effectively, respond to participant questions, and lead activities that reinforce learning.
To achieve this, Biker Down Indiana is hosting a related practical skills environment for the Riders Rescue Basic course. This is basically a soft test prior to launching the full course. This could be anywhere from 3-4 hours long, depending on participation.
Some of the topics that will be covered in this portion will be accident scene assessment and control, proper helmet removal, performing jaw thrust, identifying typical motorcycle injuries and basic motorcycle accident types.
It will also cover, the order of injury assessment such as prioritizing on what to focus on first, correct application of a tourniquet, when and how to move an injured motorcyclist, how to treat various types of burns, broken bones, cuts and more.
This is a casual, come as you are training session. Wear comfortable clothing as some of the skills will be practiced on the floor if you are able. Coffee, water and soft drinks will provided. Feedback, suggestions and participation is expected and encouraged.
Instruction is provided by an experienced and accredited trainer in the metro Indianapolis area.
