Feed The Children - Indianapolis

Hundreds of families received holiday care packages during the No Hunger Holiday event held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Families received a 25-pound box of food; a 15-pound box of much-needed essentials such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion and personal-care items.

Bikersinc, in collaboration with Feed the Children, hosted a drive-thru to distribute 400 of these packages Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022.

These packages were available to the general public from 2:00 p.m till around 4:00 p.m. at Bikersinc, located at 1761 North Sherman Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana.

The partnership between Bikersinc and Feed the Children was designed to help children and families during the holidays and bring awareness to the important issue of childhood hunger in Indianapolis

Here is what was given out..

- 10 pallets Food Boxes = 400 green boxes, food boxes weigh approximately 25-28 pounds Each food box contained non-perishable food items such as canned fruits, canned vegetable, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce etc.
- 10 pallets Hygiene Boxes= 400 blue boxes weigh approximately 12-15 pounds Each box of essentials contained personal hygiene and cleaning supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, body wash, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.
- 2 pallets Amazon Snap Bags: Baby Care – Amazon Snap Bags: Baby Care - Includes Diaper, Baby Oil, Bottle, Swaddle, Laundry Detergent = 320 bags
- 2 pallets Amazon Snap Bags: Hygiene - Includes Washcloth, Razor, Soap, Lotion, Deodorant = 320 bags
- 1 pallet 1378906 Campbell's Chunky: Baked Potato w/Steak and Cheese 12 cans per case/150 cases = 1800 18.8 oz cans 4 cans per family (200 cans extra)
- 1 pallet 1380609 Arm and Hammer: Laundry Detergent Sensitive Skin 8 per case x 45 cases = 360 50 oz bottle
- 26 pallets total
The pallets were 48”x 40”. Each food pallet weighed somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,250 lbs. The personal care (hygiene) pallets weighed in the neighborhood of 600 lbs.
The truck arrived at 1761 North Sherman Drive around Noon on December 31, 2022. Give-a-away started at 2:00 and ended around 4:00.
